The new president of CBS is vowing to improve the network’s diversity, as he emerged as the network’s first openly gay president.
Glen Geller described himself as “a gay guy from Indiana who doesn’t play basketball.”
When asked about the topic of diversity in CBS programming and company culture, he remarked, “There is diversity at CBS. It exists in front and behind the camera. Can we do better? I think we are.”
Notably, CBS holds the title of being the network with the highest viewership nationwide.
Geller is not the first openly gay network executive. NBC’s Bob Greenblatt, the network’s entertainment chairman, emerged into the spotlight to discuss his sexual orientation in 2011.
